Today is my last day at the counseling center. I have mixed feelings, both excitement for the new chapter opening tommorrow and sadness for a sweet chapter closing. I have learned much from my time at the center that I believe I will take with me and continue to learn from. The Lord is good.
Amidst the busyness I had my Puritans class today and found this great quote encouraging -
“We have enough in us to move God to correct us, but nothing to move him to adopt us, therefore exalt free grace, begin the work of angels here; bless him with your praises who hath blessed you in making you his sons and daughters.” Thomas Watson
When time allows I’d like to do a study on the Puritans and adoption. My guess is that they said some things about big ‘A’ adoption (God’s adoption of us) but not a lot about little ‘a’ adoption (our adopting children). We’ll see.
On another note, this morning while I worked I listened to worship from Rob Bell’s church Mars Hill which is great stuff. This afternoon I came across a great post on Bell’s latest tour by Justin Buzzard. If you wonder what the deal is with Bell this is one place to start.

thanks for the post. ive not listened to much of bell and our worship pastor loves him. He went to the tour thing in San Antonio and loved it. Critiques aside, bell does some great biblical theology, though arguably too reliant on rabbinic scholarship
