This is a powerful video of a well-known Gospel illustration that has been made into a short movie. Click here for the trailer.

Happiness of Heaven

Today in my Puritan’s class we are looking at Edwards. Here’s a great quote from his Miscellanies on the nature of the saints enjoyment in heaven:

233. HAPPINESS OF HEAVEN. We know not what sort of bodies the saints
shall have after the resurrection. But it seems to me probable, that as
the bodies of the wicked [...]

Swerve

David prays in Ps.141 “Do not let my heart incline to any evil…”
The Hebrew for “incline” is the idea of turning, moving in another direction, to swerve. My heart does just that. Moving, turning, swerving this way and that way like a drunk trying to walk a straight line. This is a very practical and [...]

Slavery Here and Now

SIM has a great article with more resources than you will know what to do with on modern day slavery. Yes…slavery still exists!

Lincoln on Thanksgiving and Orphans

We had a great day yesterday with friends celebrating Thanksgiving. There is much to be thankful for!
Before we feasted our host read Lincoln’s Proclamation of Thanksgiving. This part especially struck me near the end:

They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we [...]

Today is my last day at the counseling center. I have mixed feelings, both excitement for the new chapter opening tommorrow and sadness for a sweet chapter closing. I have learned much from my time at the center that I believe I will take with me and continue to learn from. The Lord is good. [...]

New Chapter

As of this Thursday I will be working full-time as the Director of Ministry Development for the ABBA Fund, a ministry that gives no-interest loans to Christian couples adopting and helps churches start adoption assistance funds. I am excited and humbled to have the opportunity to serve in this way! I feel like there are [...]

From Adopted to Adopting

Boundless just published a great article by Justin Taylor ‘From Adopted to Adopting.’

You Are God’s Plan for the Orphan

From my good friend Eugene Allison of the ABBA Fund:
Dear Friends,
As I’m sure you know, today there are more than 143 million orphans in the world. That’s approximately one-half of the population of the U.S.! Most of these children live in poverty, are malnourished and experience daily rejection. But what they really need is someone [...]
