Ryan Ferguson Recites Hebrews 9 and 10

I had coffee with a friend the other day who attended the Sovereign Grace Ministries WorshipGod06 Conference back in August and shared with me about how seeing and hearing Hebrews 9-10 recited by memory was so powerful. It is now online! These are two of my favorite passages in all of scripture. It is powerful!

Ryan is a member of North Hills Community Church in Greenville, South Carolina, and has actually memorized the entire book of Hebrews!

I’m not sure how he did it but for a great system on memorizing large chunks of scripture check out “An Approach to Extended Memorization of Scripture” by Dr. Andrew M. Davis (Pastor, First Baptist Church in Durham, N.C.)

Now to stop blogging and go memorizing for me! I’m thinking of doing Colossians.

Dude, this stuff is amazing. I saw him do the whole book live at North Hills about a year ago or so. It was the most powerful sermon on Hebrews I have ever heard, and it wasn’t even a sermon. He does it with such insight into how Paul (or Anonymous Whoever) must have wanted things emphasized.

Thats cause Hebrews was a sermon before it was a letter, correct?

Yeah, Hebrews was originally a sermon. I would LOVE to hear the whole book done by this guy! I emailed him and told him to record himself doing the whole book, chapter by chapter, and upload them onto YouTube or Google video and it would bless a lot of people! Great for stirring the soul!
