Alright another hockey post but I can’t resist - I am Canadian! Last night I got to watch the team I grew up cheering for play Game 3 of the Stanley Cup playoffs - and win! I was born and raised the first half of my life in Edmonton and it was during those years that Gretzky and the Oilers won 5 Stanley Cups within a 7 year period! Seeing them play last night brought back some of that excitement I had forgotten about. What a great game! You can check out highlights here.
And to begin it all I was almost brought to tears by the singing of the national anthems, especially when the singer stopped and let the crowd take over on ‘Oh Canada!’ I about got up in my living room here and joined in. I felt so proud at that moment to be a Canadian! Then as if it couldn’t get any better I saw Joey Moss singing his heart out! I hadn’t seen or thought of Joey Moss, the Edmonton Oilers locker-room attendant with down syndrome, since I was a little kid! It’s amazing that he is still around - what an inspiration! GO OILER’S!
